Bitcoin Whale Moves $423M to Binance-Linked Address
A large Bitcoin holder has been moving significant amounts of BTC to an address linked to Binance over the past three weeks, raising market concerns about potential selling pressure. According to blockchain data, the address in question received a total of 6,494.34685667 BTC between July 19 and August 8. The funds were transferred through 45 deposits, with some transactions combining Bitcoin from other addresses.
On August 10, CryptoSlate reported that the address had spent all its holdings through 70 confirmed transactions, with 23 of 25 withdrawal transactions sending funds to a Binance-linked address. However, blockchain records alone cannot confirm whether the transaction led to actual sales or was an internal exchange fund reallocation.
Market attention is focused on whether the Bitcoin moved to an exchange for an actual sale. On-chain analytics firm Lookonchain identified the owner as an 'unknown whale' and mentioned the possibility it could be a miner. However, past attribution materials do not necessarily mean the same control relationship continues to the present.
Some analysis suggests that it is too early to judge whether the move itself has produced real selling pressure. The fact that Bitcoin moved to an exchange-related address is a signal showing potential selling, but separate confirmation is needed on whether actual sell supply reached the market.
