Bitcoin Whale Profits Hit Record $9.07B, Long-Term Holders Increase On-Chain Activity
The number of Bitcoin (BTC) short-term holder whales sitting on record unrealized profits has reached $9.07 billion, marking a new high in the metric's history dating back to 2016.
This figure fell to $7.51 billion as prices moved slightly lower, but remains among the five highest ever recorded, all within the past two weeks.
According to CryptoQuant contributor IT Tech, this record level of unrealized gains could become a source of selling pressure if Bitcoin pulls back further.
'Unrealized profit at that scale is exposure. A cohort sitting on a record paper gain can turn into sellers the moment price wobbles,' IT Tech noted.
