Bitcoin Whale Profits Hit Record High, Testing Market Support
Whales holding Bitcoin have accumulated $9.07 billion in unrealized profits as of September 4, according to CryptoQuant analysis.
This is a record high since 2016 and reflects the rapid accumulation of paper gains during Bitcoin's move above $80,000.
The figure declined to $7.51 billion on September 5 as Bitcoin pulled back, but it remains historically elevated.
Unrealized profits do not mean whales have sold; they measure the difference between an asset's current market value and its onchain acquisition cost before a transaction takes place.
