Bitcoin Whale Unleashes $46M Transfer After Four-Year Slumber

A large Bitcoin investor known as a 'whale' has transferred approximately $46.12 million worth of BTC to a new wallet after remaining inactive for four years.

The transfer, reported by on-chain analytics platform Onchain Lens, saw 730 BTC moved from the dormant address to a newly created one. According to data shared by Onchain Lens, the Bitcoins in question were accumulated gradually over the past seven years and held in the same address without any transactions until now.

Analysts suggest that this activity may be linked to the recent revelation of a security vulnerability in the Coldcard hardware wallet, leading long-term investors to move their assets to more secure wallets. However, it's unclear whether the transfer was for selling purposes or solely due to security concerns.
