Bitcoin Whale's $11.6M Profit Fueled by Mass Liquidation of Short Positions
A Bitcoin whale has made a significant profit after holding onto their long position for nearly two months. According to Lookonchain, the investor closed their positions in two wallets, 0x5FA and 0x237, which accumulated a combined gain of $11.6 million.
The timing of the exit coincided with Bitcoin's price surge from $58,000 to above $80,000 on August 25, representing a climb of approximately $20,000 during the period in which the whale held its position.
The mass liquidation of $225 million in short positions in just 10 minutes fueled the rally that made such a gain possible, generating a bullish cascade that pushed Bitcoin above five figures abruptly.
