Bitcoin's recent surge towards $81,500 has given way to renewed selling pressure as data indicates smaller holders are reducing their exposure while large Bitcoin wallets continue accumulating the asset.

According to on-chain analysis by crypto analyst Ali Charts, Bitcoin's price climbed approximately 31% in its latest rally, moving from $62,229 to about $81,500 within a short period. However, wallets with balances between 0.1 and 1 BTC posted an Accumulation Trend Score of -0.982, suggesting these holders have been distributing, not accumulating, Bitcoin during this period.

In contrast, holders with at least 100 BTC have been actively accumulating, according to the same analysis. Wallets holding more than 10,000 BTC increased their balances by 46,420 BTC over the past 60 days, highlighting clear institutional and whale support in the market.

Despite price fluctuations, institutional demand for Bitcoin continues to act as a vital driver. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $2.5 billion in inflows over seven trading sessions ending August 27, marking their strongest performance since October.
