Bitcoin Whales Forced to Surface as $239 Billion Lawsuit Takes Unprecedented Turn
A lawsuit filed in June by 'Noah Doe' has sent shockwaves through the cryptocurrency community, with the plaintiff attempting to claim ownership of approximately 3.8 million Bitcoin (BTC) under New York's Lost Property Law.
The suit targets 39,069 dormant BTC addresses, including 21,744 associated with Satoshi Nakamoto, totaling about 1.09 million BTC (approximately $68.6 billion).
A stay was issued in June, halting further proceedings until a hearing on September 8.
In the meantime, some defendant addresses have transferred significant amounts of Bitcoin, with over $2.1 billion worth transferred since the lawsuit was filed.
