Bitcoin Whales Fueled by Inflows Amid Weaker Retail Demand
According to a recent report from Santiment, large Bitcoin holders have continued their accumulation of the flagship cryptocurrency over the past eight days. The analytics firm found that addresses holding between 10 and 10,000 BTC increased their combined balances by 19,696 BTC during this period.
This growth in accumulation among so-called 'sharks' and 'whales' comes amidst a decrease in buying activity among smaller investors. Wallets holding less than 0.01 BTC showed reduced dip-buying activity, suggesting weaker participation from micro retail investors.
Santiment's report also notes that the return of spot Bitcoin ETF inflows and a gradual shift in Bitcoin supply toward larger holders may contribute to a potentially constructive market backdrop. The firm emphasizes that this is an interpretation of on-chain data and market trends rather than a prediction of future price performance.
