Bitcoin Whales Rebuild Holdings Amid Bear Market Accumulation

CryptoQuant has reported that Bitcoin whales are rebuilding their holdings after the recent dip below $60,000. According to the blockchain analytics firm, large holders of Bitcoin (BTC) increased their positions while the asset remained under price pressure.

The number of Bitcoin held by whales, excluding exchanges and mining pools, rose to approximately 3.06 million BTC from a December 2025 low of about 2.87 million BTC. Buying accelerated below $60,000 in June, but holdings still trail the 2025 bull-market peak of roughly 3.23 million BTC.

CryptoQuant's research suggests that this accumulation pattern is typical of late-stage bear markets, where strong hands absorb weak-hand supply. The firm believes that this shift can tighten available supply and support Ether (ETH) when broader demand returns. However, the signal is not a breakout, and another decline may come before the market confirms a floor.
