Bitcoin Whales' Record Profit Test Rallies Price Floor
According to an analysis by Cryptoquant, Bitcoin's short-term whale cohort has amassed a record-breaking $9.07 billion in unrealized profit before the figure eased as BTC slipped.
This record-breaking figure was reached on September 4 and is considered paper gains held by large wallets that acquired Bitcoin within recent months.
The metric eased to $7.51 billion on September 5, but remained historically high.
Cryptoquant contributor IT Tech framed these gains as potential selling exposure rather than evidence that whales had already begun realizing profits.
Unrealized profit represents the difference between an asset's current market value and its on-chain cost basis before the asset is sold.
