Bitcoin Whales Snap Up $3 Billion in Week, Eyes on Breakout Zone

Bitcoin whales have been active over the past week, accumulating more than $3 billion worth of Bitcoin. According to on-chain data from Santiment, large investors have steadily increased their holdings since August 23, with whale-held balances climbing from roughly 5.17 million BTC to more than 5.21 million BTC by August 28.

The buying activity suggests that major holders remain confident in Bitcoin's long-term outlook despite the asset's recent consolidation following its latest rally. Whale accumulation is often closely watched by traders because large investors have historically increased exposure during periods they view as attractive entry opportunities.

The bullish on-chain data is supported by an increasingly constructive technical picture, with analysis from TrendSpider showing Bitcoin testing a key long-term breakout zone on the monthly timeframe. This former resistance area around $60,000 to $70,000 has been flipped into support, and if Bitcoin can successfully retest this zone, it could pave the way for renewed bullish momentum.
