Bitcoin Whales Turn Cautious Ahead of Fed Decision as Retail Investors Take the Lead

Bitcoin whales have become increasingly cautious ahead of the Federal Reserve's interest-rate decision next week. According to CryptoQuant, their inflows into Binance dropped by 44.3% over the past 30 days, from around $7 billion on June 12 to approximately $3.9 billion. In contrast, retail investors' inflows remained steady at about twice that of whales, with a 22% drop in the same period.

The sharp decline in whale inflows suggests that these large-scale investors are preparing for potential market volatility. With the July FOMC meeting scheduled for July 30, an unexpected rate hike could lead to increased Treasury yields and a stronger dollar, which may in turn surge volatility in risk assets like Bitcoin.
