Bitcoin's $1 Million Price Target by 2030 Faces Skepticism
Bitcoin's price target of $1 million by 2030 is being questioned by Markus Thielen, head of research at 10x Research. Thielen disputes the validity of estimates made by high-profile Bitcoin holders during the last bull market.
To reach a price of $1 million per coin, the existing supply would need to increase significantly between now and 2030. The current market cap is around $1.6 trillion, spread across 20.1 million coins. At $1 million each, the existing supply would be worth roughly $20.1 trillion.
Thielen argues that an increase of around $18.5 trillion in market value between now and then for Bitcoin to reach $1 million is 'mathematically impossible'. He believes a price of $15 trillion, which accounts for about a fifth of the entire U.S. stock market's worth, is still an improbably large sum.
