Bitcoin's $63K Support Shows Signs of Life Amid Confluence of Retail and Whale Buying
Bitcoin's price action has centered around the $63,000 threshold in recent weeks. According to Glassnode, over 3% of the cryptocurrency's circulating supply, approximately 515,000 BTC, has changed hands at this level as of August 4, 2026.
The 200-week moving average is closely aligned with the market price of $63,822 recorded during the session. Historically, sustained trading above this line has served as a support base in previous market cycles.
Retail investor and large-holder wallets have increased their positions in the past 30 days, according to Glassnode's Accumulation Trend Score. This rare confluence of buying from both retail accounts and whale entities suggests that spot demand is actively responding whenever the price approaches the $61,000 to $63,000 ranges.
However, concentrating coins within a narrow range carries structural risks for the market. If the price breaks below the $61,000 lower range on increased sell volume, newly acquired positions in that area could come under financial pressure, increasing market vulnerability to short-term liquidations.
