Bitcoin's $69K Rally Masks Fragile Underpinnings
Bitcoin (BTC) regained its footing above $69,000, but beneath the surface, indicators suggest that the move may be more fragile than it appears. According to a Glassnode report published on April 6, spot exchange volume, on-chain activity, and ETF trading all declined despite the price increase.
The report found that spot volume dropped 13% from $6.1 billion to $5.3 billion, while futures open interest slipped 2% to $29.7 billion and funding rates fell 13.1%. This suggests reduced leverage in the market, which may indicate a loss of momentum.
On-chain data also painted a more subdued picture, with transfer volume falling 8.3% to $5.4 billion and fee revenue declining 5.1%. These numbers suggest that the network is stabilizing without attracting meaningful new capital.
