Bitcoin's recent surge to nearly $80,000 has been met with resistance, with the cryptocurrency trading at $77,642 as of September 15. Despite hotter US inflation data and rising Middle East tensions, which have put pressure on risk assets, Bitcoin's relative stability suggests underlying demand remains resilient.

Nischal Shetty, Founder of WazirX, notes that macro conditions remain restrictive but crypto continues to absorb external pressure without a broader breakdown. However, according to Riya Sehgal, Research Analyst at Delta Exchange, the price action suggests buyers are still defending lower levels, and persistent supply around $79,000, $80,000 is limiting upside momentum.

The immediate focus is on today's CLARITY Act procedural vote, which could represent meaningful progress toward a clearer US regulatory framework. A failure to advance could lead to a short-term disappointment trade, particularly with positioning already becoming more sensitive to headlines.
