Bitcoin's $80,000 Test Could Decide the Rally's Fate

Bitcoin has reached a critical juncture in its recent rally, trading at $78,766.61 and up 22% over seven days. The cryptocurrency's market capitalization is near $1.33 trillion, with a range from $62,280.6 to $79,306.4 across the July 23 to August 24 window.

The move has been vertical, with Bitcoin pushing through several key levels in recent days. On August 19, it traded at an intraday low of $64,100 and closed near $69,500 after a Treasury announcement lifted the per-operation ceiling for long-end liquidity buyback operations to at least $4 billion.

The sequence of events is crucial in determining the durability of the move. Three separate mechanisms fired inside seventy-two hours: a macro rate shock, an institutional flow reversal, and a forced-buying cascade. The forecast question is which of those three is still operating on August 24, as only one can carry price to $84,000.
