Bitcoin's $80K Push Halted by Brutal Sell Pressure
Bitcoin's push towards $80,000 was abruptly halted when it faced intense sell pressure and plummeted by over $1,500. The price action saw two distinct attempts to breach the resistance level around 11:30 am and 12:15 pm, but both times it was met with aggressive selling.
Market analyst James Stanley noted that Bitcoin 'wicked right underneath the level and then snapped back.' After failing to hold the $79,500 support level, the price cascaded down before finding a local bottom around $78,400. It then mounted a steady recovery above the $79,000 mark.
The swift drop was accompanied by unusual buyer behavior, with buyers aggressively stepping in to front-run the market. Rafael (@n3ocortex) from Glassnode observed that 'buyers have stopped waiting for a better price' and are instead showing impatience. This is evident in the rapid V-shaped recovery seen on the chart.
