Bitcoin's $80K Surge Deemed a 'Trap' by Analyst: Price Predicted to Drop to $45K

Bitcoin's recent surge to nearly $80,000 is being called a 'trap' by analyst Nonzee, who warns of a potential drop to as low as $45,000. According to Nonzee, the price increase was driven by forced buying rather than genuine demand.

The analyst points out that over $3.1 billion in short positions were wiped out during the rally, with Bitcoin accounting for roughly $1.65 billion of that figure. This, they argue, was a liquidity squeeze rather than a change in sentiment.

Nonzee ties the timing of the rally to two catalysts: Trump's CLARITY Act and the Treasury Department's increased long-term bond buybacks. They believe these events forced shorts out and drew fresh longs into an already overextended market.

The analyst predicts that the $70,000 fair value gap will be filled, followed by distribution and a selloff, with a potential downside path running from $77,000 to $67,000, then $55,000, before a final leg down to between $48,000 and $45,000.
