Bitcoin's $80K Surge Triggers Investor Greed to Levels Not Seen Since October 2025 Crash
Bitcoin's price has surged to nearly $80,000 after being stuck below $65,000 for weeks. This sudden increase in value has shifted investor sentiment and pushed the Fear and Greed Index to its highest level since October 2025.
The index measures market feelings by observing factors such as volatility, momentum, trading volume, social media comments, and dominance. It ranges from 0 (extreme fear) to 100 (extreme greed). With a current reading of 71-72, this is the second time since January that greed has dominated.
Notably, October 2025 saw one of the worst calamities in Bitcoin's history, with prices plummeting and liquidations reaching $19 billion in less than 24 hours. If the rapid increase in investor greed signals trouble ahead, it could be a warning sign of a potential trend reversal.
