Bitcoin's BIP-110 Proposal Fails to Secure Miner Support
Bitcoin's BIP-110 proposal has failed to secure broad miner support, according to Michael Saylor. The proposal had only received 2.6% miner signaling, falling short of the required threshold.
Saylor notes that once Bitcoin reaches block 961,632, nodes following BIP-110 will reject non-signaling blocks. This would likely result in BIP-110 stalling or forking into irrelevance, while Bitcoin itself continues to operate normally and as intended.
This development aligns with earlier commentary from Saylor, who had indicated that a stall or fork was likely unless conditions changed. Saylor also observed that Bitcoin has historically traded above its 200-week moving average 92 percent of the time.
