Bitcoin's Bottom May Be in Sight as Long-Term Investment Case Remains Intact
Bitcoin's price has plummeted nearly 50% from its all-time high of $126,000 last October, leading some to think it may be a bad time to invest. However, proponents argue that Bitcoin's long-term investment case remains intact and that the current market conditions are actually a sign that the asset is bottoming out.
The cryptocurrency has historically traded in four-year cycles of boom and bust, with each cycle consisting of three good years followed by one very bad year. According to this pattern, the current cycle should be coming to an end, and Bitcoin may begin to rise again as early as this fall.
Coinbase Global CEO Brian Armstrong and top tech investor Cathie Wood of Ark Invest both believe that Bitcoin has finally hit a bottom at $60,000 and that it could reach a price target of $1 million or more by 2030. However, investors should be prepared for a volatile path upward and adopt a long-term perspective when buying into the asset.
