Bitcoin's Breakout Moment Looms as Price Ticks Above Range
Bitcoin's price has been stagnant for months, stuck within a two-month range of $64,925. The current price is barely above the lower half of this range, making it a crucial moment for a breakout.
The upper limit of this range is the key level to watch: $67,073. This area was the site of two recent rejections, once in mid-June and again in early August. A daily close above this line would be a significant development, as it would signal that Bitcoin has broken through resistance.
According to the chart analysis, if Bitcoin can break above $67,073, the next major target is $74,000. This area corresponds to the origin of the large breakdown candle in June that pushed the price out of the low $70,000s. However, there's a caveat: the 200 EMA sits at $72,339 and is still sloping down, potentially serving as a barrier to further price increases.
On the other hand, if Bitcoin fails to hold above $64,000, the sequence of supports below would be triggered. These levels are $61,858 (the range floor), $60,000 (a round number and site of July basing action), and $57,884 (the July low).
The momentum picture is neutral, with RSI at 49.98, sitting right on the midline. There's no overbought stretch to unwind or oversold spring to load.
