Bitcoin's Final Coins Will Take Over a Century to Mine

The Bitcoin network is nearing its final stretch as the remaining coins to be issued under the protocol's hard cap are slowly trickling in. With a circulating supply of approximately 20.07 million BTC, roughly 929,465 BTC still await issuance.

This remaining portion will take over a century to enter circulation due to the network's programmed halving schedule, which steadily reduces the block subsidy until issuance effectively ends around 2140.

The current subsidy of 3.125 BTC per block and an average of one block every ten minutes result in new coins being created at a rate of about 450 BTC per day or roughly 164,250 BTC per year.
