Bitcoin's Head-and-Shoulders Pattern Hinges on $67,200 Breakout
The Bitcoin price chart is displaying an intriguing pattern as it attempts to form a reversal. According to TechCharts analyst Aksel Kibar, this 'head and shoulders' setup could be a crucial reason for short-term optimism among bulls at the start of August.
Bitcoin is hovering near $63,382, carefully forming the right shoulder of the classic inverse head-and-shoulders pattern. This setup lies behind a heavy decline from May highs above $81,000 and a nervous search for a bottom near $57,000.
Kibar calls this setup the only real reason for short-term optimism among bulls at the beginning of August. However, Ethereum has already completed its reversal journey and is confidently moving toward its technical target of 0.0312 in the $ETH/$BTC pair.
This relative strength in Ethereum is an excellent sign for the broader market, but the situation remains tense for Bitcoin holders. Either Bitcoin follows the example of its younger sibling and delivers a rapid move above $67,200, confirming the classic reversal, or the pattern breaks down.
