Bitcoin's Historic Capitulation Zone Near $38.4K: Is It Time to Break the Pattern?
Bitcoin's historical capitulation zone is near $38.4K, but something unexpected may be happening to this metric.
The Balanced Price has been a reliable indicator of deep cycle bottoms for Bitcoin, adjusting its aggregate market cost basis using the long-term spending footprint of older coins.
However, according to Alphractal founder Joao Wedson, the cumulative time between the asset's interactions with the zone has increased from 732 days to 1,420 days in the current cycle.
This raises the possibility that BTC could break its historical pattern and never revisit the zone, or that it may still have an on-chain basis as a possible capitulation target at $40K if the pattern repeats.
