Bitcoin's July Rebound May Not Last: August Historically Brings Losses

Bitcoin's July rebound may have some analysts wondering if history will repeat itself in August. The largest cryptocurrency saw a notable increase in July, but its performance over the past four months has been less than stellar.

In June, Bitcoin plummeted by 20.48%, making it one of the most violent months for the asset in four years. However, as expected, July proved to be a better month, with history on BTC's side as nine out of the last eleven months were in the green.

Despite a brief dip below $58,000 on July 1, Bitcoin quickly regained control and reclaimed the coveted $60,000 level within a day or two. The asset peaked at $67,000 on July 21, its highest price tag in two months, before being rejected despite softer-than-expected inflation data and the Fed's decision not to hike interest rates.

As popular analyst Ali Martinez noted, August has been kind to Bitcoin in recent years, with losses of 13.88%, 11.29%, 8.6%, and 6.49% over the past four months. However, the broader August perspective remains deeply negative, with only three out of the last twelve editions being in the green.
