Bitcoin's Long-Term Price Floor Surpasses $65,000
Bitcoin's long-term price foundations have reached a new milestone as its 200-week moving average (200WMA) climbed above $65,000 for the first time. This key support level is now at its highest point ever recorded and has been rising rapidly over the past month.
The 200WMA, which smooths out volatility by averaging Bitcoin prices across four years, is often considered a critical indicator for identifying the cryptocurrency's long-term trajectory. Analysts frequently reference this moving average as Bitcoin's enduring price 'floor,' as periods below this level have historically been limited to brief intervals during significant global downturns.
Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream, highlighted the significance of this development by sharing updated market data sourced from Look Into Bitcoin. The continuous growth of this 'floor' level is drawing attention among long-term investors and traders alike, as it suggests that Bitcoin's baseline structural value is strengthening at a faster pace than in prior market cycles.
Bitcoin is currently trading between $76,000 and $77,000, well above the newly established 200WMA. This sizable gap between the spot price and the moving average indicates that buyers continue to absorb selling pressure even at premium prices relative to historical support.
