Bitcoin's Momentum Slows as $475M Flows Out of US Spot Funds
Bitcoin's recent rally has come to an abrupt end as investors pulled out more than $475 million from US spot Bitcoin funds over Thursday and Friday. This sudden reversal marks the end of a seven-day inflow streak, which saw these funds attract a total of $999.3 million between July 14 and July 22.
The bulk of this trading activity was handled by BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust, which has been gaining traction in recent weeks. This fund alone managed to draw in almost $9 million in new money despite the overall market downturn. Its growth has positioned it among the stronger ETF launches of 2026.
The sudden outflows have weighed on the price of Bitcoin, which traded near $64,544 and showed little change over the past seven days after giving back part of its earlier gains. This decline is not unique to Bitcoin, as rising oil prices and conflict in the Middle East continue to affect risk assets globally.
CoinShares has warned that fresh ETF inflows may not be enough to drive a lasting rally while market pressure remains high. Bitcoin's price has still managed to hold its ground despite losing nearly half of its value since reaching a record of $126,080 in October.
