Bitcoin's Practical Use and Peak Hype: Ross Gerber Weighs In
Investment advisor Ross Gerber has expressed skepticism about Bitcoin's practical use in everyday transactions. According to him, gold remains easier to use for such purposes. He also highlighted a shift in the focus of Bitcoin miners, who are increasingly focusing on AI infrastructure rather than cryptocurrency mining.
This trend, Gerber suggests, may indicate that Bitcoin's peak has passed. Additionally, he criticized Bitcoin advocates like Michael Saylor, particularly after Strategy sold some Bitcoin, raising questions about the cryptocurrency's long-term value beyond price speculation.
Gerber's comments come as Bitcoin has fallen from over $65,000 to just above $63,200 last week, influenced by Strategy's sale of 1,690 BTC. This decline led to a broader market pullback, with major altcoins like ADA and XRP also falling significantly.
