Bitcoin's Price Rally Hits Roadblock at Narrow Technical Threshold
The price of Bitcoin has surged by nearly 24% over the past week, reaching an intraday high of $81,265 on August 25. This marks its largest weekly nominal gain since 2023 and lifted the asset from the $64,000 zone. At the time of writing, it had retraced to the $78,500-$79,000 range.
Despite this impressive rise, analysts are cautious about predicting a long-term ceiling for Bitcoin's price. According to CryptoQuant, a technical analysis framework, the maximum attainable price in the immediate horizon is within the narrow range of $82,000-$83,000. A weekly close above this zone would validate the bullish structure and open the path to higher targets.
On-chain indicators also suggest that the current movement is driven by a broader buyer base, including participants settling positions with underlying assets. The CryptoQuant Bull Score has risen significantly, with eight of the ten components in bullish territory. However, the framework introduces a restrictive condition: Bitcoin requires a weekly close above its 365-day moving average near $83,000 for the regime change to be formally confirmed.
