Bitcoin's Price Surge Sends Fear and Greed Index to New Heights
Bitcoin's price has surged to its highest level since mid-May, reaching almost $80,000 in just two days. This sudden increase was triggered by monetary changes announced by the US Treasury Department, which sent investors rushing into the market.
The Fear and Greed Index, a metric used to measure investor sentiment, has risen significantly as a result of this price surge. Currently, it stands at 71, with yesterday's reading at 72 - both the highest levels since October 2025. This metric ranges from 0 (extreme fear) to 100 (extreme greed).
The last time greed reached such high levels was in October 2025, when Bitcoin experienced one of its worst crashes in history. Prices plummeted by double digits, and liquidations topped $19 billion in less than 24 hours.
