Bitcoin's Rally at a Crossroads as New Long Positions Fail to Materialize
Bitcoin has broken above $72,000, but market data suggests that new long positions have yet to enter the market in significant volumes. According to Coinglass, over $3 billion in leveraged positions were liquidated in the past 24 hours, which indicates that the current rally is primarily driven by short covering.
Adam McCarthy from LO:TECH stated that the perpetual contract market currently shows more forced exits of one-sided short positions rather than substantial inflows of new capital. 'At present, no investors are willing to pay a significant premium to go long,' he noted.
The share prices of publicly listed companies holding digital assets remain relatively depressed, making it difficult to restart the previously established 'financing-to-buy-Bitcoin' cycle. This means that Bitcoin has entered a more critical phase of its current rebound, relying increasingly on genuine new spot buying rather than forced liquidations of leveraged positions.
