Bitcoin's Range-Bound Pattern vs Zcash's Recovery Narrative

Bitcoin's price is stuck in a range-bound pattern, trapped by a death cross formation on its charts. This has raised concerns that the market leader may be setting up for a bear trap.

The crypto trading session was quiet this week, but the charts tell a different story for Bitcoin and Zcash. While Bitcoin struggled with fears of quantum and AI threats, including a $130 million Coldcard wallet exploit, Zcash saw its Ironwood upgrade activate on mainnet, reworking its network's privacy backbone.

Zcash's price dipped after the activation of the upgrade, but buyers came back in, keeping the recovery narrative alive. The altcoin currently trades at $520.33 and a roughly $8.7 billion market cap, up 2.95% after tagging a $525.00 high and a $502.98 low.

Bitcoin's price is now pressing toward its 200-day exponential moving average around $66,500, the ceiling that has capped every bounce since the death cross formation months ago. The structure still reads like a relief rally inside a downtrend, with the shorter average below the longer one in a death cross formation.
