Bitcoin's Red Team Unleashes AI-Powered Auditing on Hundreds of Projects

The Bitcoin open-source development team is now using AI-powered auditing to identify vulnerabilities in hundreds of projects linked to its ecosystem.

A volunteer 'red team' uses multiple Chinese AI models, including Kimi K3 and GLM 5.2, to track flaws in these projects.

These models help researchers combine automated analysis capabilities with human expertise to identify risks before they become public.

In a recent audit of 390 projects, the team detected 4,962 anomalies, including 85 critical and 635 high-risk ones.
