Bitcoin's RSI Blasts Off to Record High as Price Nears $80K
Bitcoin's Relative Strength Index (RSI) has surged to approximately 86, marking its strongest overbought signal in nearly two years. This move comes after BTC broke decisively above its long-held trading range of $62,000 to $71,000, rallying as much as 12% in a single day and briefly approaching the $80,000 price level.
The RSI is a widely followed momentum oscillator that measures the speed and magnitude of recent price changes. Readings above 70 typically signal overbought conditions, and a climb to 86 is rare, indicating extreme bullish momentum.
Historically, such elevated readings have sometimes preceded short-term pullbacks, but they can also persist for extended periods during strong uptrends, according to Crypto Briefing. In this case, analysts point to $77,000 as a critical short-term support level, and if Bitcoin holds above it, the rally may continue.
