Bitcoin's September Surge May be Short-Lived Amid Fed Uncertainty
Bitcoin's strong start to September has traders cautious despite its best monthly performance in 21 months. In August, Bitcoin delivered nearly a 25% return, marking two consecutive months of positive returns. However, historical data suggests a different story for September, with average losses of -2.86%.
Simon-Peter Massabni, Head of Business Development at XS.com, notes that the price action reflects a highly sensitive market to shifts in monetary policy expectations. He adds that institutional demand remains strong, with spot Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) recording an inflow of $216.70 million on Monday.
The Federal Reserve's upcoming policy meeting and escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East are among the key factors that may impact Bitcoin's price. Additionally, Strategy's latest purchase of 4,603 BTC for $370 million signals continued institutional demand despite the strong gains in August.
