Bitcoin's Stability Hides Crucial Weekly Close Risk
Bitcoin's price has remained relatively stable over the weekend, trading around $77,000 after Saturday saw little meaningful movement. This is in line with recent weekend trends, which have seen less volatility due to a lack of crypto-specific catalysts.
Analyst Rekt Capital notes that this stability may be deceiving, as the weekly close could determine whether the current consolidation develops into another recovery attempt or puts BTC at risk of revisiting lower support. Specifically, he is focusing on approximately $78,300 as a crucial level, which Bitcoin has yet to reclaim and successfully retest from above.
Rekt Capital compares this situation to May 2026, when Bitcoin also traded around $78,300 before losing the level and subsequently falling through $72,848. However, he emphasizes that this comparison is based on similar price behavior rather than a guarantee of the same outcome.
If Bitcoin closes the week below $78,300 and fails to reclaim it, Rekt Capital's bearish scenario becomes more compelling. On the other hand, holding above $78,300 could bring $79,000, $79,500 back into focus, followed by another attempt at $80,000.
