Bitcoin's Warning Signs Emerge After August Rally

Bitcoin's recent surge has left many wondering if it's sustainable. The cryptocurrency rose by about 24% in August, reaching as high as over $80,000. However, three warning signs have emerged that could indicate a potential downturn.

One of these warning signs is the rise in Binance's Bitcoin reserves, which hit a 2026 high of around 687,000 BTC. This suggests that there may be more supply available to sell on the market, potentially putting downward pressure on prices.

Another concern is the slowdown in demand for US spot Bitcoin ETFs. After a nine-day streak of inflows, these funds saw a notable outflow, indicating weakening interest from investors.

Additionally, data suggests that the recent price rise may be driven more by leverage than actual buying. This could make it difficult to sustain the current level of prices if market conditions change.
