Bitdeer AI Lands $400M Malaysia Data Center Deal
Bitdeer AI has secured a significant deal worth $400 million for its Malaysia data center. The agreement, which covers roughly half of the A102 facility's capacity, is set to run for five years. According to reports, the unnamed customer behind the deal has 'high credit quality' and service delivery is expected to commence in Q1 2027.
The news comes as Bitdeer AI continues its expansion into the global market. The firm has been reviewing infrastructure in various countries for AI and colocation services, with Malaysia being one of its key locations. In fact, Bitdeer's AI division generated approximately $69 million in recurring cloud revenue last year.
Notably, this deal is part of Bitdeer's ambitious plan to achieve 350 MW of AI cloud data center capacity by Q1 2028. The firm has been diversifying its operations beyond Bitcoin mining, with a focus on GPU cloud services and infrastructure contracts. Its recent partnership with Nvidia's Volta for the leading AI lab via Volta is another significant step in this direction.
