Bitdeer Expands Malaysian AI Footprint with 65.1MW Data Center Deal
Bitdeer, a prominent Bitcoin miner, is expanding its AI infrastructure in Malaysia with a 10-year agreement for a 65.1MW data center in Johor Bahru. The deal will give Bitdeer its largest AI capacity addition in Southeast Asia and support the company's strategy of using its existing infrastructure to capture growing demand for AI computing.
The A202 facility, which is part of the same campus as Bitdeer AI's 21.7MW A201 site, is expected to begin receiving power in the third quarter of 2027. Once both sites are operational, they will provide a combined 86.8MW of AI cloud capacity based on critical IT load.
The expansion follows strong utilization across Bitdeer's AI cloud operations, with a reported 95% utilization rate and approximately $76 million in annualized recurring revenue. The company expects A202 to generate revenue per megawatt comparable to its A102 facility, which has secured more than $800 million in expected contracted revenue over five years.
Bitdeer's secured AI cloud capacity now stands at about 206.5MW across Malaysia, Norway, and the United States, representing roughly 59% of its target of up to 350MW by the first quarter of 2028.
