Bitdeer Expands Texas Mining Operations with Wind-Powered Partnership
Bitdeer Technologies has partnered with Soluna Holdings to expand its mining operations at a wind-powered data center in South Texas. The partnership will add approximately 28 megawatts of mining hardware to Project Kati 1, which is an 83 MW facility powered by wind turbines. This addition will bring the utilized capacity to a meaningful level without maxing out the site.
The deployment of Bitdeer's Sealminer A2 Pro Air units is scheduled to begin in September 2026 and will add around 1.93 exahashes per second to the Bitcoin network's hash rate. The arrangement splits responsibilities, with Soluna providing the site, electricity, and day-to-day operations, while Bitdeer brings its mining machines and retains ownership.
The deal allows Soluna to monetize its spare capacity without significant capital expenditure, as the company recently posted its first gross profit in the second quarter of 2026. For Bitdeer, this partnership enables it to expand its hash rate without building new infrastructure from scratch.
