Bitdeer Technologies Group has secured a colocation lease for its massive Tydal data center in Norway, set to become the country's largest AI facility. The site will boast between 180 and 225 MW of capacity, with primary focus on NVIDIA AI technology.

The tenant behind the deal is reportedly Volta, a $2.4 billion AI cloud startup, although Bitdeer hasn't publicly confirmed the identity or valuation of its colocation partner.

Bitdeer's Tydal subsidiary, Tydal Data Center AS, executed the lease with Data Center Installations AS (DCI) in March 2026. Completion of the site is targeted for December 2026, pending a successful buildout.

The deal marks a strategic shift for Bitdeer, which operates Bitcoin mining and HPC data centers across multiple countries. The company's focus on colocation represents a bet on long-term revenue streams that don't depend on crypto market cycles.
