Bitdeer Lands Record-Breaking $4.7B AI Data Center Deal
Bitdeer Technologies Group has signed a $4.7 billion AI data center deal with Volta Tydal AS, expanding its services beyond Bitcoin mining.
The agreement will see Bitdeer lease 121 IT megawatts to Volta at its Norwegian campus in Tydal, with an option for renewal that could raise the potential value of the arrangement to $8 billion over 24 years. The facility will operate NVIDIA Rubin GPUs and be configured across four existing data halls.
The deployment is divided into two equal phases, with phase one beginning December 31, 2026, and the second phase commencing March 31, 2027. Bitdeer has also begun developing two additional data halls at Tydal that will provide an additional 47 gross megawatts of capacity.
