Bitdeer Secures $4.7B AI Lease Tied to Anthropic
Bitdeer has secured a $4.7 billion AI lease tied to Anthropic through its subsidiary Tydal Data Center, but it must complete a $500 million build before the contract starts generating revenue. The agreement involves providing Volta with 121 megawatts of computing capacity at its Norway campus over 16 years.
The deal marks a significant expansion for Bitdeer into AI infrastructure, where long-term leases can offer steadier revenue than crypto production. Under the agreement, Bitdeer expects average annual revenue of about $2.4 million per megawatt delivered, totaling approximately $290 million per year across the full project.
The company plans to open the facility in two equal phases, with the first half scheduled to begin operating on December 31, 2026, and the remaining capacity targeted for March 31, 2027. To reach those deadlines, Bitdeer will need to raise additional debt to support construction at Tydal and its broader AI expansion.
