Bitdeer Surges into AI Infrastructure with Record-Breaking 65.1 MW Expansion
Bitdeer, a prominent Bitcoin miner and data-center operator, has added 65.1 megawatts of AI data-center capacity in Malaysia to its existing Johor Bahru campus.
This expansion brings Bitdeer's committed AI Cloud footprint to about 206.5 MW, underscoring the growing trend among bitcoin miners to repurpose their power infrastructure for more predictable and potentially lucrative AI revenues.
The new facility, known as A202, will be designed for liquid-cooled, rack-scale Nvidia systems and can support both GPU cloud services and data hosting.
Bitdeer's CFO Michael G. Potter notes that demand for this type of capacity is running ahead of supply in 2027, putting the company squarely in a broader industry trend where bitcoin miners are shifting towards AI and high-performance computing to mitigate exposure to network difficulty and crypto market prices.
