Bitdeer's Q2 Bitcoin Mining Output Soars Fivefold Amid Treasury Liquidation
Bitdeer's Bitcoin mining operations saw significant growth in Q2, with the company extracting nearly five times more BTC than it did in the same period last year. According to its quarterly report, Bitdeer mined 2,694 BTC during Q2, up from 565 BTC in Q2 2025. However, the miner's balance sheet shows that it ended the quarter holding just 150 BTC after liquidating a substantial portion of its treasury earlier this year.
The company's decision to sell off its treasury, which consisted of 943 BTC worth around $29 million at current prices, was driven by liquidity considerations rather than any shift away from its core Bitcoin mining business. Bitdeer has been diversifying its operations into AI data centers and high-performance computing, with a recent agreement to lease 121 megawatts of AI computing capacity in Norway valued at $4.7 billion.
The miner's revenue for Q2 came in at $228.8 million, representing a 47% increase from the same period last year. Self-mining revenue accounted for nearly three-quarters of this total, driven by a significant jump in average self-mining hashrate to 69.5 exahashes per second, a 389% increase over Q2 2025.
Despite this growth, Bitdeer's net loss widened to $92.3 million from $62.9 million in the same period last year. However, its revenue slightly surpassed Wall Street's consensus estimate of $225 million, leading to a 1.5% rise in premarket trading on Monday.
