BitFuFu Bounces Back as Canaan Sees Third Straight Decline in Bitcoin Mining
Three major Bitcoin mining operators reported their August 2026 results, revealing diverging fortunes across the sector. BitFuFu rebounded strongly from a decline in July, while Canaan posted its third consecutive monthly decrease.
BitFuFu mined 174 BTC in August, up 55.4% from 112 BTC in July. The company's cloud mining division more than doubled to 86 BTC, and self-mining grew 22%. Equipment efficiency improved, with power capacity under management reaching 344 megawatts.
CleanSpark reported modest production growth, but its Bitcoin holdings decreased due to trading activity and sales. The company mined 593 BTC in August, up approximately 1.2% from July. CleanSpark currently ranks 9th among publicly traded companies in Bitcoin holdings.
