Bitget and Binance Coordinate Restrictions on HTX, EXMO Amid Regulatory Crackdown
Bitget and Binance have both restricted transactions linked to HTX, EXMO, and nine other entities as part of a coordinated industry-wide response to enhanced compliance control demands from Western regulators.
The restrictions are staggered across three waves: August 7 for Aban Tether Exchange and Shelbit; August 13 for A7 Africa, A7 Nigeria, and PilotFinance Ltd; and August 23 for the remaining entities, including ABCeX, BitPapa, EXMO Ltd, Exnode, HTX (Huobi Global SA), Monease Ltd, NoOnecrypto INC., Rapira, Tradex, and WhiteBird.
The aim is to apply enhanced compliance controls, rejection, account restriction during review, or account termination for terms-of-use breaches on direct or indirect transactions involving these entities.
HTX has contested the scope of both the UK and EU actions, stating that it does not conduct business in those regions and that settlement negotiations with regulators are already in progress.
