Bitget, BlackRock Discuss Asia Distribution for Tokenized Funds
Bitget, a cryptocurrency exchange, is engaged in close talks with BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, about expanding their digital asset reach across Asia. According to Bitget CEO Gracy Chen, the company has been speaking with large Wall Street institutions to understand how their digital asset products could reach more investors in the region.
BlackRock already offers crypto exchange-traded products in Asia and regularly engages with participants across the digital asset ecosystem. The firm declined to comment on specific expansion plans in the region, but Bitget's CEO said that they have 'very close communication' with BlackRock regarding distribution in the Asia market.
The discussions point to a growing overlap between crypto exchanges and traditional asset managers. Exchanges like Bitget may increasingly act as distribution channels for tokenized funds, exchange-traded products, and other investment products issued by established financial firms.
